Scottsdale Mazda Shoppers Review The Mazda CX-5 Trim Levels
With so many compact crossovers to choose from, it’s easy for shoppers to come away thinking they’re all basically the same. Most vehicles in this segment provide adequate utility, but there’s nothing special to get drivers excited. That is, unless that compact crossover is the 2019 Mazda CX-5. In addition to providing the features and technology that today’s buyers at dealerships like the Scottsdale Mazda dealer demand, the CX-5 delivers the kind of ride you didn’t think you could get from a vehicle in this class. The CX-5’s class-leading handling is a revelation compared to rivals. Inside, you’ll find a cabin that approaches what you’d expect to find in a luxury vehicle. And the CX-5 returns great fuel economy figures.
When you visit a Scottsdale area Mazda dealership, you’ll have five models to choose from: Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve and Signature. We’ll examine the different trim levels and discover what buyers will get from each one.
Mazda CX-5 Sport
The base Sport trim, as well as the Touring and Grand Touring models, employ a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s good for 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. This engine is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but buyers can choose the available all-wheel-drive system. This engine can tow up to 2,000 pounds.
The 2019 Mazda CX-5 Sport comes with 17-inch wheels, keyless entry/ignition, cloth-covered seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, Smart City Brake Support, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, an electronic parking brake and a rearview camera. Also standard are a four-speaker audio system, a 7-inch touch screen, two USB ports, Bluetooth and an auxiliary audio input.
The optional Sport i-Activsense package adds automatic windshield wipers, lane keeping assist, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, automatic headlights and lane departure warning.
Mazda CX-5 Touring
The CX-5 Touring comes with simulated leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, rear privacy glass, dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing wipers, two rear USB charging ports, self-leveling headlights with automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning/assist and Smart Brake Support).
The optional Touring Preferred package features a sunroof, a premium 10-speaker Bose stereo system, a power liftgate and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring
The CX-5 Grand Touring includes leather seating, heated side mirrors, a power-adjustable passenger seat, a navigation system and the Bose stereo system.
The available GT Premium package adds a heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a windshield wiper de-icer, ventilated front seats, a head-up display and power-folding mirrors.
Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve
The Grand Touring Reserve and Signature models are powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 250 hp and 310 lb-ft with 93 octane gasoline and 227 hp with 87 octane gasoline. This engine gets standard all-wheel drive. The Grand Touring Reserve also gets a head-up display, traffic sign recognition, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats.
Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Signature
At the top of the lineup, the Signature trim includes most of the features of the Grand Touring Reserve, plus Nappa leather upholstery, front and rear parking sensors, exclusive styling, a 360-degree parking camera and wood trim.
