A six-speed automatic gearbox is standard across the lineup. The 2.5 S hatch has an available Premium package that gets an optional six-speed manual transmission.
The 2.0 trim is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. Step up to the 2.5 S, and you’ll get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine developing 186 hp and 186 lb-ft. The 2.5 Turbo is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter unit good for 250 hp and 320 lb-ft with premium gas. With regular gas, those numbers drop slightly to 227 hp and 310 lb-ft.
The Mazda3 2.0 trim comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and ignition, cloth upholstery, LED headlights and taillights, and 60/40 split-folding rear seats. The infotainment system features an 8.8-inch display, an audio system with eight speakers, HD radio, Bluetooth and two USB ports. Standard driver-assist features include lane-departure warning, a blind-spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and automatic emergency braking.
The Mazda3 2.5 S gets 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, simulated leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 2.5 S Premium package includes a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system and SiriusXM satellite radio.
The Mazda3 2.5 Turbo includes 18-inch black aluminum alloy wheels, exclusive badging, gloss black heated door mirrors, larger tailpipes, automatic LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, rain-sensing windshield wipers and a rearview camera. The 2.5 Turbo sedan gets a gloss black front grille and lower front bumper trim. The Premium Plus package adds a gloss black rear lip spoiler to sedan models. Hatchbacks get a front air dam and a gloss black rear roof spoiler. This package also comes with leather upholstery, HomeLink, navigation, and a host of safety technology equipment.
