If you’re looking for a midsize SUV capable of seating up to seven passengers in three rows, we wouldn’t be surprised if there was a 2021 Mazda CX-9 in your future. The CX-9 is the perfect vehicle for large families or anyone who regularly needs to transport many passengers. As much room as the CX-9 provides, this SUV’s head-turning looks are another reason the Mazda CX-9 is a hit with customers at the dealership serving Phoenix. Mazda dealership visitors will love the breathtaking cabin, with appointments you’d expect to find inside a luxury SUV. Buyers will be happy to discover that the 2021 CX-9 delivers excellent driving dynamics.
There are many new and upgraded features this year. Phoenix Mazda shoppers will enjoy the upgraded infotainment system, which gets a 10.3-inch display and an update to the user interface. The Touring, Grand Touring and Signature trims get a standard wireless charging system. Meanwhile, a new Carbon Edition trim comes with black 20-inch wheels, a blacked-out grille, black exterior trim, and red leather seating. An upgraded exterior camera system and paddle shifters are now standard in the Grand Touring and Signature models. The Signature trim gains new quilted leather seats, a restyled grille and wheels, a driver attention monitor, and rear automated emergency braking.
J.D. Power writes: “The Mazda CX-9 may not be as ubiquitous on American roads as some other mainstream midsize crossover SUVs. Still, its combination of good looks, interior quality and refinement, and safety features and ratings make it worthy of consideration for your family car. And, as expected of a Mazda, it’s enjoyable to drive.”
Buyers can get the 2021 Mazda CX-9 in one of five trim levels: Sport, Touring, Carbon Edition, Grand Touring and Signature. The CX-9 is equipped with a 2.5-liter turbo-four engine that pushes out 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque when fueled with premium. With regular gas, this powerplant generates 227 hp and 310 lb-ft. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox. All-wheel drive is available.
The CX-9 gets an EPA-estimated 22 mpg city/28 mpg highway with front-wheel drive, while all-wheel-drive models return 20 mpg city/26 mpg highway.*
